Frequently Asked Questions
How do I adopt a Doberman Puppy? We begin by having interested families complete a puppy application. This helps us learn more about your lifestyle, experience, and what you're looking for in a puppy. Our goal is to thoughtfully match each puppy with the home that best fits their temperament and needs, setting both the puppy and family up for lifelong success.
Visitations & Pickups This is our home, not a kennel, and our puppies are lovingly raised as part of our family. Puppies are ready to go to their new homes at 8 weeks of age or later, depending on the timing of ear cropping. All pickups are by appointment only. For the health and safety of both puppies and adult dogs, we do not allow general visits. Since puppies have developing immune systems, limiting exposure helps keep them healthy. We’re happy to share photos, videos, and regular updates, and we’re always available to answer any questions.
Can ears be left natural? All our dogs come with their ears cropped. However, if you do not prefer their ears done, they may be left natural if you prefer. Pricing remains the same regardless of whether ears are cropped or left natural. Puppies without ear cropping must be paid in full before our scheduled ear crop appointment.
What is included with my puppy? Each puppy goes home with: • Age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming • Veterinary health check and fecal test • Parents are genetically screened via embark, and OFA / PennHIP tested. • AKC Limited Registration • Ear cropping performed by Dr. Midgarden when available, or a trusted alternate source. • Tail docking, and dewclaw removal • Microchip • A new bag of the food your puppy has been eating • Written health record and health guarantee • Weekly updates during their time with us • Early socialization and foundational training • Puppy starter kit, including toys, a blanket with mom and litter scent, collar, and other essentials • 30-day pet insurance • Lifetime breeder support This package ensures each puppy transitions to their new home comfortably and confidently, with the tools and guidance needed for a smooth start.
What is the cost of your puppies? Our puppies are priced from $4000 to $4500 and are sold with AKC Limited Registration. Pricing reflects the extensive health testing of our breeding dogs, the quality of care each puppy receives, early socialization, and the time and dedication invested into every litter.
Do you require a deposit and have a waitlist? Yes. We require an $800 non-refundable deposit to join our waitlist. Deposits are applied toward the total purchase price and are honored in the order they are received. If your preferred sex or color is not available at the time of selection, your deposit will be transferred to a future litter. When it is your turn to choose, we work closely with each family to help match them with a puppy that best fits their home, lifestyle, and goals.
Do you offer breeding rights? Our puppies are placed with AKC Limited Registration, and we do not offer breeding rights. Preservation breeding is not about producing as many dogs as possible it is about making thoughtful, well-planned decisions that protect health, temperament, structure, and longevity over generations. Our bloodlines are preserved through carefully planned breeding's within our program and, when appropriate, through select collaborations with trusted, established breeders. By retaining control over breeding decisions, we ensure that each dog is bred responsibly, with complete health testing and a clear long-term plan for the future of the breed.
Do you ship puppies? We prefer puppies be picked up in person whenever possible. Shipping or professional transport may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the buyer’s expense.
